Here's What You Missed This Week 6/30/13 - 7/6/13

I apologize for not being very internetty this week. I hope you guys were okay without me. My husband took the week off of work, and we had a bit of a stay-cation. He let me sleep in almost every day! And when I say "sleep in," I mean until 11 or so, not 8. He deserves a medal, right? Anyway, we did a lot of sitting around, a lot of shopping, and on Thursday, we had a cookout. It was pretty rad, except that I forgot to serve the side dishes, and now we have ten pounds of potato salad to eat before it goes bad.

What I wrote

Not much, really. I got some free nail polish sticker thingies that I really loved, and I reviewed them. I included a picture of my feet, so I'm hoping to capitalize on the increased traffic from foot fetishists. My Toesies Are Cuter Than Yours

So, that cookout I mentioned? I knew I was going to do something to screw it up. Here's proof: I wrote about it the day before it happened over at In the Powder Room. Throughout the party, my guests kept telling me, "Wow, you predicted this would happen!" My Party is Going to Suck

Theme Thursday this week fell on a holiday, so I decided to give you all the day off. We invited everyone to share an old post. The link up is still open, if you're looking for something to read!

What I read

Lori from The Next Step was on Scary Mommy this week, talking about the scariest thing that's ever happened to her. You will laugh and laugh and laugh and then get your tubes tied. The Twin Diagnoses

Starr from The Insomniac's Dream is having a rough time of it right now. The anniversary of her good friend's suicide just passed. She shared her pain and her fond memories with us. Go give her a digital hug, would you? My Immortal

Another good friend of hers just lost his brother. To the same cause. On the same weekend. She convinced him to write about it. Reading the two posts side by side offers an interesting perspective on how time affects grief. (a chaotic missive from the one who lived)

Don't run away crying yet! I'm going to leave you on a happy note. You know those Neighborhood Watch signs with the spooky stranger in a fedora? Have you ever thought about how silly those are? Amber from Parenting Illustrated With Crappy Pictures has. This is short and hilarious (of course). Neighborhood Watch Signs

Hey, where are the tweets? Where's the "what I shared"? I failed, sorry. Like I said, I was busy this week. I didn't do a whole lot of social media stuff. I'll get you next week, okay?
